WA Bream Classic won by Action Equipment Branch Manager

Chris Pfrunder Swan River Winning Fish WA Bream Classic TrophyCongratulations to Action Equipment’s Perth Branch Manager, Chris Pfrunder (pictured with Biggest Fish) and his Team 13 fishing partner Callum Dowell on their win in Round One of the Engel WA Bream Classic held in Perth over the weekend.   Not only did they take out first place but Chris also bagged the biggest (and the second biggest) fish of the day.

Out of 38 boats and 76 anglers, that competed, only four teams managed to weigh in a full bag of 4  bream in what was obviously a tough day on the water.  Chris and Callum’s bag weighed in at 3.19kg and the largest was an impressive 1.175kgs – that’s 2.6 lb in the old scale.

All of the fish caught on the day were later released, other than the largest specimens which were chosen to be part of a breeding program by the local university.

It was Callum’s first win on the WA Bream tournament scene since 2008, while for Chris it was only his second tournament ever…the last being in a dinghy when he was 14!

Congratulations guys, best of luck with the remaining 3 rounds.
